Kickstarter

This song in the above video, "If I Were Brave," is one I wrote from my favorite songwriting perch in my kitchen in Nashville a little while back, and it's one I return to mentally sometimes, asking myself, "What would I do right now (whatever the situation) -- if I behaved like I weren't afraid?" And then I try to tell myself, "Then do that!" So that's something like this Kickstarter project. I am trying to record my second full-length studio album while finishing my Master's degree (and keeping my job) -- and I don't have a lot of time to work with! From the time of my Kickstarter launch to its end on March 1, 2012 is less than three weeks! And I'll plan to release the record at the end of March 2012. So, if you resonate with this song and want to hear more songs like it, please consider becoming one of my backers, and let your friends know about it, too!

The crucial catch with Kickstarter, though, is that I have to raise ALL of the target goal, or I will receive NONE of the funds. Any funds OVER the goal will just make the record that much better! But, your credit card will be charged ONLY if the pledge goal is met. So it is really a no-harm, no-foul situation for you. My studio costs are being partially subsidized through a grant, but there are still many expenses involved in the project: studio overhead, mixing, mastering, duplication, and so on...!
