Hey and thanks for checking back in. I'm in Lahinch, a pretty seaside town in County Clare, western Ireland. Got a show in a little bit. Last night I filmed a song for Balcony TV, on a balcony in Dublin. Fun time. Look for it online in two weeks or so.
THANK YOU to everyone who has been contributing lately. We've made some nice progress in the past week or so, and I'm grateful. I'll send you each a quick email "thank you" as well as the exciting rewards associated with your giving level as the project comes together.
Please continue to help spread the word to friends, associates, music fans, world music fans, West African music fans, and everyone you know. I know we can keep the pledges coming and reach the goal by Sept. 13th. This album's going to be well received and an exciting new development in Malian music. I'm very excited to begin working on it in early 2010 in Bamako.
Again, I can't do it without your support. Thanks to everyone who has generously 'backed' this project, and newcomers... it's not too late! Join all of us now and be a part of the Mande Sessions.
I'll continue updating as I can from the road. This week it's Ireland, then onto England, a final show in Netherlands, and back home around Labor Day.
Ireland greets you with rain, Guinness, and Jameson for the brave.
Talk to y'all soon,
adam

Wow. Welcome to Athens, Georgia. I'm bringing you down (from the continental U.S. only) for a fun weekend checking out local music, eating fine food, and playing corn hole at Little Kings! Oh, and you get all of the above too..
Unreal. You get the above, yep, all of it, plus the Guild acoustic guitar I used on my first two records!
The Patron Deal: You're a true patron of the arts. A griot is a traditional Mande bard, praise singer, and oral historian. As a griot of the Kouyate clan, I will compose a song singing your praises in Bambara and include it on the record! Oh, and you get the above (minus the guitar if it's already taken).
OK. This is wild. Can't give you the guitar if someone's already beaten you to the $5,000 mark, but pack your bags.. we're going to Mali! You're coming with me to record the album, you'll meet my Malian friends, and it'll be the trip of a lifetime!

Beyond music, I like traveling, reading, baseball, hanging out, eating food, interesting & weird people, watching movies (I mean, films), walking around... Oh, I'm a big fan of Scrabble and all (well, most) things Mali. I believe in and care deeply about sustainable international development work. Go Dawgs, Go Browns, Go Braves.. What? No way, I did a sleep study too!
Laura says: Hi Adam, It was great seeing you play tonight at Ashford Manor. Your mom has played your music for me before, but I enjoyed hearing you in person--although I can imagine a different venue would really give your music a chance to shine. I think the storytelling and poetry of your music makes it so rich! I also think your Mali project and the causes are sound wonderful! It was good meeting you tonight and I wish you the best!
