OK. This is wild. Can't give you the guitar if someone's already beaten you to the $5,000 mark, but pack your bags.. we're going to Mali! You're coming with me to record the album, you'll meet my Malian friends, and it'll be the trip of a lifetime!

Connected as Adam Klein (2362 friends)
I'm a singer/songwriter playing country folk and 'Americana' songs based in Athens, Georgia.
I have two released records, both on my Cowboy Angel Music label:
Distant Music (2006)
Western Tales & Trails (2006)
Some highlights on the music front:
-Toured in the U.S. and Europe
-'Western Tales' received positive reviews on a number of blogs and publications, including Americana UK, No Depression, Paste, Maverick, Flagpole, and others
-'Western Tales' debuted at #4 on the Euro Americana charts in November 2008, holding strong in December (#7) and January '09 (#11) as well
-'Western Tales' was the 5th most added album at Americana radio in the U.S. in November '08
-Performed with such artists as Okkervil River, Kevn Kinney, Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, Victoria Williams, Eilen Jewell, and others.
Beyond music, I like traveling, reading, baseball, hanging out, eating food, interesting & weird people, watching movies (I mean, films), walking around... Oh, I'm a big fan of Scrabble and all (well, most) things Mali. I believe in and care deeply about sustainable international development work. Go Dawgs, Go Browns, Go Braves.. What? No way, I did a sleep study too!
Thanks for the kind notes and support, y'all. I'll be in touch with a 'thank-you' and the prizes!!

Adam, this is your cousin Andy Klein posting from Phoenix, Arizona. I received a voice mail from your Mother this morning telling me about this next project that you are contemplating. I am excited for you and really mesmerized by your talents. The website is way cool. I am forwarding it to Elyse and Lauren. I hope my pledge helps. You deserve the best.
This is better than I anticipated! Nice write-up in this week's Flagpole, by the way. Hope your travels are going smoothly! (Janet Geddis, Avid Bookshop-coming soon)
