UPDATE 2: I've changed the first two pledge rewards- everyone now gets their name in the credits! I will do this for everyone who has pledged unless they don't want me to. Kickstarter only allowed me to go back and add that bit to the first two rewards because no one had selected those yet- but everyone who has pledged will be in the special thanks section!
UPDATE 1: I just hit my first fundraising goal! I can now make the intro DVD. I hope we can keep the pledges coming so I can make the 2nd and 3rd videos in the series- I know everyone want's me to get to the juicy bits- how to sculpt PORTRAITS! Please show your support so I can share all I know on sculpting!

SO... back to my original pitch:
Have you ever wanted to make your own action figure? Or do you dream of becoming a classical sculptor (the Tuscan sun streaming through the atelier windows, illuminating motes of stone dust)? Or maybe you have always wanted to create monsters for Hollywood...
If you want to become a better artist (sculptor, digital sculptor, painter, etc) you can put in the 10,000 hours Malcom Gladwell suggests are necessary, or, you can help fund my project and let me cut that number down to something MUCH more manageable for you.
I have a unique approach to sculpting and I've never heard of anything like it anywhere before. I've seen it make enormous and almost instantaneous changes in the work of the few people I've shared it with.
I have some REALLY cool things planned for a video series unlike any you've seen before! I have some very cool and unusual ways to present key concepts. I am very excited to share my knowledge and ideas with the world!
I love teaching, I love video and I love sculpting, so this will be a dream come true for me.
FUNDING:
My stated goal is $10,000. That will take me through one video.
Every video in the series will be cool and absolutely floor-to-ceiling jam-packed full of info and this first one is no exception (although it will be a little more nuts-and-bolts than the following ones because it will be an introduction to materials, tools and techniques).

I would be thrilled to be able to raise enough funds to start work on the second and third videos, as there will be a fair amount of prepping and planning that has to go into those... (just you wait!) so the more you fund, the more cool videos you will get out of me! Don't be shy now, show your support! I am a commercial sculptor based in Providence Rhode Island.
I've been sculpting since 2002. I am known for my realistic portraiture with expressions, clothing folds, anatomy and dynamic compositions.
