I like paper thin without a hyphen.
Congrats boys! Hope it's a smash! I won't be able to make the show for obvious reasons, so please pass along my comp ticket to someone deserving of the break. Destroy it! (Then get a real job, slackers.) Rock, Adam.
Cool video. I am certain you will achieve your goal. Looking forward to seeing you on stage. Congratulations!!!
I'm bringing a pocket full of twelve-dollar bills to Chicago in June!
Thank you Lenzner sisters (and mom) :)
Who's on the $7,500 bill?
Mmm, good point. We picked the presidents that made us giggle the most.
And for today's complaint, I'd like to point out that the pledge amounts and fake president names do not correspond correctly to the Presidents on U.S. currency. Franklin should be $100, etc. :p
You may play the artistic license card. It's also an extremely common error that I see constantly.
As with everything in English, it's complicated (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_compound#Hyphenated_compound_adjectives)
But here's the rule of thumb:
"My apartment has drab beige walls."
Are the walls beige? Yes. Are they drab? Yes. Therefore, it's NOT hyphenated.
"My apartment has paper-thin walls."
Are the walls thin? Yes. Are they paper? NO. (Not literally.) Therefore, it IS hyphenated.
Haha, thanks Maya!
I remember doing a google search for the title a while back to check on the hypen vs. no hyphen battle and the no hyphen won, but I think technically the hyphen version would be more correct.
I'm glad to support this project. The workshop version you guys did at the Lookingglass was one of the more visceral evenings of theater I've experienced. Can't wait to see it staged. I want to do the sound design for you guys!
But the punctuation Nazi in me wishes it was hyphenated: "Paper-Thin Walls."
