About this project
Tedious Brief Productions brought you Bard Fiction. A smash hit when it first debuted at the 2009 MN Fringe Festival, this show has taken on a life of its own, and a new officially expanded version will debut in Chicago as part of Commedia Beauregard's 2012 season.
Now, we want to work the magic again!
Tempests, which is scheduled to debut in August 2011 as part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival, is again a meeting of classical text and pop culture at its best; James Cameron's classic movie Aliens is re-imagined as a Shakespearean sequel to The Tempest. After twenty years, Miranda must return to the island of her childhood to confront her greatest nightmare.
We at Tedious Brief are thrilled to bring another promising new play to the stage. Through this neo-classical lens, Tedious Brief continues to explore the timeless genius found in both modern and classical works and mediums.
But, we can’t do it alone.
We rely on the generosity of people like you. The easiest way to help is to come and see the production (the venue and dates are listed below). If you can afford to contribute more, even a small amount, it can make a huge difference for us. Consider what your gift can provide:
· $25 pays for one week’s rental of our rehearsal space
· $50 pays for ten scripts for our actors
· $100 pays for Tempests’s promotional postcards
In return for your generous donation we invite and encourage you to take advantage of the promotional offers at the different contribution levels, but more importantly you will know you’ve made a critical difference in bringing new art to Minnesota.
Tempests will be presented at the 2011 Minnesota Fringe Festival
