A year ago this weekend, I stood in the back of a sold-out theater at Lincoln Center and watched the audience settle in for the world premiere of my directorial debut at the New York Film Festival. It had been a long, low-budget road, but worth it to watch strangers and a handful of my closest collaborators just... enjoy the film. I did too.
That film has since screened in 46 festivals worldwide and taken home four awards. Between today and December, it will screen with another 18 fests. We'll blow all of that out of the water with our little film about cinema, faith, and ancestry. It will be a beautiful blast to make.
