With Electronola getting close to completion, I've set this up to take pre-orders for the CDs, but I can never do anything quite that simple.
Don't get me wrong - of course you can simply just order a CD. What I mean is that I realized that this was an opportunity to create fun packages that I can tailor for each of you. I spent a while determining exactly what to offer that would be unique, entertaining, and fun for us both. If you check out the options on the right I think you'll find a nice assortment of choices.
For example, one package is called the "Phone Phreak", where you can send me either your normal outgoing voicemail greeting OR a voicemail that you want to leave for someone. I'll do some "glitch editing" and tweaking to the audio just like I tend to in my tracks. The result will be something like this: PhonePhreakExample
Oh yeah - funds from this will go towards some of the unsexy but necessary aspects of making a CD like mastering & manufacturing. More importantly, I think this will be a great way to be able to connect with all you cool folks that are digging my music and supporting my record. I'm really going to enjoy this!

"Phone Phreak" - You send me a recording of your normal voicemail greeting, I'll tweak it, freak it, and glitch it out & send it back OR you can send me a message that you want to leave on a friend's voicemail and I'll tweak and freak that and send it back. It'll still be intelligible, but the person on the other end might think they're having a flashback. I've done this for a couple of friends, and it's always been a big hit. It's fun and really catches people off guard. Of course, you also get the Electronola CD and a download of "Classics".

"Telephone Serenade" -Get the Electronola CD -plus- a phone call from me where I'll perform a song for you on piano. I can either serenade you directly, or you can have me serenade someone else on your behalf: I could call your friend with a birthday song, play a love song for your date, or something else along those lines. You also get a download of "Classics"

"Serenade Phreak" - You get the "Telephone Serenade", the "Phone Phreak" voice mail, and of course the Electronola CD and a download of "Classics".

"Piano It Up" -You send me one of your tunes, we talk about the vibe and direction you want for it, then I record some tasty piano parts for it (with a few variations so you have options) and send it back to you. I recommend that you let me throw down some New Orleans flavored stuff on it, but I'm down for whatever. You also get the Electronola CD & a download of "Classics".

"Name That Tune" - One of the tracks for this record is still unnamed. I'll let you hear it, and you can name this anything within reason (nothing mean, and nothing that I wouldn't want to say in front of my grandmother or my godchild). Name it "Joe + Jenn BFF" or "Rockstar Jimmy Was Here" or "In Memory of my dog, Spot" or "Mic6helle is the World Champion Thumbwrestler" or whatever else you'd like (within reason, subject to my approval, but I'll be very lenient for must stuff). You also get the Electronola CD and a download of "Classics".

I sculpt data that scrambles electrons that excite magnets that move speakers that ripple the air that tickles your eardrum that tantalizes your brain that shakes your bum. Simply put, I'm a music producer and recording engineer. I do a lot of work with some of New Orleans' favorite acts, including Preservation Hall & the New Orleans Bingo! show.
Among the more famous artists I've recorded are Tom Waits, Pete Seeger, Del McCoury, Lenny Kravitz, Jim James, Paolo Nutini, Mos Def, and Buddy Miller. I've also done independent recordings for local greats like Shannon Powell, Tom McDermott, Luke Winslow-King, Meschiya Lake, & Kristin Diable.
In addition to my studio engineering, I produce and perform electronic music as The Madd Wikkid, and have been known to play piano/keyboards around New Orleans and Japan. I also sometimes tour as a live sound engineer.
