Ryan O'Connor Eats His Feelings is coming BACK to New York and needs your help!
OK, so here we are, 4th place on "Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star" and it is time for my next chapter! I have decided to take my new title as one of "Oprah's Chosen One's" and go back to my roots and my love and do what I set out to do last year. In July of 2010, I was fortunate enough to SELL OUT my NY concert debut at Joe's Pub and now, I am coming BACK to NYC to take my one-man musical "Ryan O'Connor Eats His Feelings" to the next level!
Taking the show that Time Out NY called "a real heavyweight" is no easy task!
I am developing new material, including an ALL NEW multimedia musical exploration of my journey to, with and around OPRAH WINFREY, new songs, new stories, new background vocals, a brand new LIVE TALK SHOW segment and much, much MORE!
So, here's the truth. The last year, including creating "Eats His Feelings", touring "Eats His Feelings", all the costs and unemployment of the Oprah experience and a wedding down the pipeline has cost me a lot of money and I can't afford to kick start this project on my own.
Here's where you come in. We'd tried on of these before and, unfortunately, it didn't work out. My goal was REALLY high and you guys contributed AWESOMELY but we didn't get to the end goal, so none of you were charged.
I need help raising funds for the costs associated with mounting RYAN O'CONNOR EATS HIS FEELINGS for 4 Mondays in a row at The Laurie Beechman Theatre Off-Broadway.
What your money will be funding.
For the first time EVER, I am bringing on a DIRECTOR. Although not able to announce yet, this is a BROADWAY vet, familiar with directing HIT shows and brings an immeasurable experience to the show.
All new publicity team. HHC Marketing is one of the leading theatrical publicity firms and Shane Marshall Brown and the HHC team are going to help me take EATS HIS FEELINGS to the NEXT LEVEL with a strategic press plan and an INCREDIBLE launch on May 2nd, (the day after my 30th birthday)
Multimedia Project - I am adding a new MULTIMEDIA experience in to the show that is going to cost some money to create and also the equipment to utilize it.
Musical direction. We will be working with a NY based musical director to round out the vocals of the show that now features combined background/Greek chorus vocals from LUCAS COATNEY & JASON POWELL.
And last, but not least, I need living arrangements in NYC. So I need some money to sublet an apartment for the month I will be in NY.
I have total faith that this leg on the Eats His Feelings experience is going to be a huge success, but I need your help to get it KICKSTARTED. I just can't upfront fund this one myself right now, but I need to ride this Oprah momentum in to my dreams!
Ultimately, this whole project is going to cost me around $7,000. However, I learned last time that SOME funding is better than NO FUNDING, so I am going to set my goal for the absolute MINIMUM I can do the show for, which is $4,000. But I hope that if we reach that goal, you will all help me keep raising and get our funding to the place were we can REALLY knock this sucker out of the park!
