About this project
"I Saw Butterflies Kissing Today!" is all about inspiring kids to play outdoors again! I have written a series of fun songs, including the title track, "I Saw Butterflies Kissing", which are about critters found in most backyards, parks and fields. No matter where we live there is wildlife close by waiting to be discovered! Sadly, many children no longer get to play outside and they miss out on the fun of chasing after a butterfly, watching a column of ants or simply lying on the grass watching the clouds floating by! The aim of this CD is to inspire parents and grandparents to sing the songs with their children and then encourage them to go and explore the outdoors!
I will begin recording the CD in April 2010 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The producer is Dan Donahue, who produced my second CD, "Dolphin Teach Us To Play". Dan is a well known, award-winning Canadian producer who has worked with many of Canada's finest children's entertainers.
The money will pay for the recording and production of the CD. I will then print up copies of the CD and it will also be available as a download from iTunes, Amazon and a host of other on-line distributors. Once the CD is finished I will be searching for an illustrator and a Publishing Company who will work with me to produce a beautifully illustrated book that can accompany the CD. The book will feature many of the backyard critters in the songs and have educational content and fun tips about them.

Rosie will provide a workshop for teachers at the Elementary School of your choice either in Southwest Florida or Montreal. This fun program demonstrates how teachers can easily incorporate songs and stories into environmental education curriculum. A copy of the “We’re All Interconnected- Activity Guide with CD/DVD” will be provided to the school along with all four of Rosie's CD’s.

Rosie will provide the Elementary School of your choice either in Southwest Florida or Montreal, Quebec, with a 45-minute full music concert. This performance could also be for a Community Center Youth Program or Summer Camp. The show will be dedicated to you and video-taped for you to see if you are not able to attend. The school will be provided with the "We're All Interconnected Activity Guide & CD/DVD" as well as copies of Rosie's CD's including "I Saw Butterflies Kissing Today". (Concerts are limited to these 2 localities because of travel costs for Rosie & musician; she is available to perform anywhere if costs are covered. Montreal and Southwest Florida are home bases for Rosie.)

International children’s entertainer, Rosie Emery is a singer/songwriter, environmental educator and new media producer specializing in teaching children how all of life is interconnected, through the songs that she writes and the programs that she produces.
Since July 2004, Rosie has been partnered with WGCU Public Media (PBS) in Fort Myers, Florida to develop and produce their Curious Kids TV/Web and outreach programs which can be viewed at: www.wgcu.org : these include the Curious Kids Nature Club, Get Up, Get Out, Get Active, We’re All Interconnected and Safety Rules. As the Curious Kids Ambassador, Rosie performs her up-beat music concerts at WGCU community events as well as in regional schools. This summer she will begin producing a half hour Curious Kids! TV series which will be hosted by Kids for Kids.
Rosie is also the co-creator, with JC Little, of the Little Earth Charter www.littleearthcharter.org, a series of eight animated shorts hosted by two child-friendly characters, little Rosie and Planet Earth! Based on the sixteen principles of the International Earth Charter, the eight synthesized principles of the LEC promote social responsibility and environmental stewardship to young children.
With 20 years of experience touring schools and developing programs in Canada and the United States, Rosie has developed her own brand of unique environmental educational resources. She shares these with educators through her presentations as a Keynote and Guest Lecture Speaker at educational conferences and also in workshops for community and educational institutions. Rosie founded and produced the critically acclaimed Rainbow Road Tour, an Eco-rock production that visited hundreds of schools across Canada and the northern United States from 1997 - 2002. No stranger to television, she has appeared in specials on Canadian CTV, WTN and YTV as well as on the Hawaiian PBS Kids Science show.
