About this project
Purple Macaroni Productions is proud to present the 10-minute crime action thriller "Run".
Told in non-linear time, "Run" is a short film about one woman's quest to out-smart and out-run Portland's criminal underworld in order to save her daughter. As the seconds tick, her tech-savvy and speed are pushed to the limit. When access is denied, but failure is not an option, how far would you go for your child?
Reminiscent of films such as "Flightplan" and "The Net", "Run" is a sprint-to-the-end thriller that proves a mother's love is no ordinary crime.
Produced, Written and Directed by Amy Beth O'Brien.
Collaborating with other filmmakers in Portland, the film will be shot on 16mm film and transferred to HD for editing and post. Production is projected to take place in September of 2010. Funds raised here will be used to buy film stock and pay for processing, as well as pay principal crew members and actors a stipend for their time and effort. Additional funds will be needed later to pay for post-production tasks such as sound editing/design and color correction.

Connected as Amy Beth O'Brien (217 friends)
I am a filmmaker living and working in Portland, OR. I have been making movies for over 8 years now, but telling stories my whole life. My mother recalls that I wrote stories with my best friend in Kindergarten. Most of my films grow out of a kernel of truth from my own life, and I am very interested in the universal truths in all of our stories. I am also passionate about collaborating with other women filmmakers, and furthering the visibility of women in the film industry.
