Update #21: Phase One - Pro Tools
I'm happy to announce that the original Pro Tools files from the recording sessions are now available, thanks to generous hosting from Archive.org.
Please remember these are unedited raw recordings, so they will not sound nearly as good as the final music that will follow very soon.

Enjoy,

What a week! First the Open Goldberg recordings, and now this! I will wait for you to finish editing before I have a go at them, though. I don't know everything on the list, but I suspect I probably should (and will!). Glad to hear archive.org came through, they seem like a perfect place for it.

Once again Aaron, thank you & Musopen for your work.
Once again Aaron, thank you & Musopen for your work.
in the meantime, while waiting for final format, my PC could have many extra night shifts to download a part of this huge music flotilla.

Update #20: The End is Near - In a Good Way
Good news. Editing is complete, we are now mixing the music and adding finishing touches. I am spending all of my time listening through everything very carefully. We are close enough that I'm going to be submitting an order for t-shirts this week, and begin preparing everyone's gifts.
I will send an update before everything is mailed, in the meantime I am figuring out a way to get the original ProTool files online so donors can download them and mix things themselves
Thanks for your patience and for sticking through this with me, hopefully you will all be as pleased as I am with the final result.

Update #19: Recordings Done - Editing Begins
The recordings are all complete - whew. For those that requested it, I have 560gb of protools files, the originals made in the recording studio. I am thinking about ways to make this accessible, possibly using a torrent.
The next several weeks will be editing all the sessions into a final set of recordings, then everything will go online. The studio where the music was recorded was too busy to edit everything locally (as they play and edit it all in real time). If anyone knows a good ProTools audio person that would be interested in helping to edit, please feel free to connect me.
Hoping to deliver everything shortly.

@Johannes
The first round of edits is done, I've hired someone to help polish as I felt there are some things left that will produce a better result. I have been told that will take roughly 2 weeks. The masters are online and if the editing takes too long I'll release those separately so people can start to have fun with the music. The shirts are waiting on the recordings since I have to mail them together for most people.
So I would say 2-3 weeks to be safe, longer than that I'll start releasing the master recordings and what has been edited so far -

Great news Aaron, your hard work is appreciated :)
Just wondering... for those of us who are expecting something sent by mail... where do we specify our postal address?

Glad to hear this is finally coming to a close, I'm registered as a backer here and have an account on musopen but it's been very quiet. I did find an old email from October 2010 that I may or may not have responded to about an account upgrade, if I missed that then how would I go about it? I did fill out the upgrade form now, just to try it...

Update #18: Silence on the set - Recording in Progress
I am currently listening to a very nice performance of the Brahms 2nd symphony. One of the Musopen donors is in Prague in the recording studio, and anyone else in the area is welcome to join. It took a long time, but its happening!

Awesome. Too bad I'm not in Prague. Were any of the backers able to catch up with you there?
