Monsters!
We are—all of us—special, strange, mundane/ You never can tell how two lives might fit together/ Make friends with a monster/ Smile/ Get tangled in a new story
The Monster Book
I’ve been printing monsters for a while now, and it’s time to get the whole monster family together:
With your help, I will create 26 monsters—one for every letter of the alphabet, each with it’s own Raison d'être—for a playful picture book. The Monster Book will showcase this series of prints/short short stories in a bound coffee table compendium. Check out the Monsters, read their stories, and watch monster Video at www.kickstarter.com/projects/MonsterBook/the-monster-book/posts.
Burlington City Arts Mentor Arts program exposes kids and young adults to various forms of art through a dynamic mentoring program. 10% of all Monster Art sales will go to Burlington City Arts Mentor Arts. Learn more at www.burlingtoncityarts.com/programs/mentorarts.
Here’s where you fit in:
1. Pledge at any level. Get to know your inner monster, support Mentor Arts, and get great monster art in return.
2. Become a monster. I’m looking for images and stories for the project. For $300, you or a loved one/object can be in the book. I will interview you to learn your story and transform your image into a unique linoleum block print. See your image and your story on a framed print and in The Monster Book.
Here’s one Monster. Meet Fizz:
Fizz loves Aretha Franklin.
“You Make Me Feel Like a
Natural Woman” is his favorite.
When it plays, Fizz can’t
help it—he sways!
Thanks for taking the time to learn about my project. I’d be happy to answer questions or share ideas. Looking forward to hearing from you!
