About this project
This hour-long documentary is a fascinating window into the life of a group of gay men as they try to build a spiritual community through the practice of Hot Nude Yoga (HNY). Men Coming Together follows the story of this group, lead by founder and teacher Aaron Star, and chronicles the evolution of HNY as it has grown - from its simple origins - through international media hype - to bicoastal expansion. Along the way, each member has to decide if the community that emerges is the spiritual home he originally envisioned.
Men Coming Together takes viewers on a physically and emotionally intimate journey with these men. Not only do we see the uncensored beauty of yoga, we witness the emotional catharsis that occurs from the experience. The story structure is character driven, following a chronological sequence of events that show how the community forms, grows, encounters crisis, and finally seeks to redefine itself.
We've got 90 hours of footage, an experienced, enthusiastic editor, and a great subject. In order to see this film through to fruition and have it ready for sale to television, $22K will be needed.
But, the good news is that … as little as $6K will get us through the editing process and leave us with a fine cut of the finished film, which puts us in a much better position to negotiate with distributors.
That's where you come in.
So, today I am going to ask a serious question of you … what exactly does 90-days mean to you? When you’re a filmmaker …. 90-days can signify a life, a whole history, an artistry and a powerful, meaningful vision.
You have the chance to be a part of a cinematic phenomena and help bring true life to a filmmakers vision.
Simply said, it’s all or nothing … we will have 90 days to either raise the $6,000 that we set as our Kickstarter goal, or we lose it all. If, in just 90-days you want to become a part of something more … now is your chance!
P.S. Please share this story with others and encourage everyone to offer their support of this project. Even if you can’t donate more than a few dollars, post the link on Facebook, share it in an e-mail, write the local paper … please help by doing what you can to bring our dream and our call to action to an ever wider audience. And again … thank you!
