My current paintings are from a series that I call “One Scape” that are explorations of color, space and line.
Through the movement of these varied lines and color fields, I create abstract illustrations that are narrated by my freestyle approach. These narratives consist of landscapes and portraiture that convey how I define my environment(s).
Through this process I am constantly building and rebuilding the work until the remaining parts are consistent with the whole piece. My ultimate goal is to communicate complexity within simplistic forms.
Since 2002, I have worked within the gallery circuit, fashion industry and freelancing as an illustrator/
graphic artist. In 2004, I began sewing custom pillows, which is now a signature part of my home accessories line, Vanilla Medallions™.
I received my BFA in Digital Imaging from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia.
