About this project
My Passion Project:
In the last two years, I've been putting a lot of my focus and attention on writing, rewriting and polishing a 60-page television pilot entitled "Harvest". I finished the final draft, and now I am putting a concentrated effort on getting exposure for it, and getting it seen by the right people.
As those of you pursuing your goals know (especially in Los Angeles!), this is not always an easy thing to do. If I could just drop it off on the desk of a major literary agent or television network - HBO and Showtime, are you listening? :) - well then, that's what I'd do. But in this business, it's all about who you know and having a little luck on your side. Oh, and having a quality product doesn't hurt either.
In order to give my pilot the chance it needs, I decided to film the opening scene to the pilot, with the idea that I can present a visual with the full script. People who may be less likely to read through a whole script are more likely to pop in a five to ten minute film. My hope is that watching the short provokes them to pick up the pilot and read it.
The opportunity:
The director that is attached to the short is repped by William Morris/Endeavor Agency. This is one of the top literary and acting agencies in LA, and has been my dream agency since before I moved out here. The director has offered to pass the short along with my 60 page script to his agent, who would pass around my script for me if they liked what they read. This is a HUGE opportunity for me. A dream come true!
The crew:
I am extremely fortunate to have some really great people helping me with the short, people who are as passionate about the project as I am. Graduates from LA Film School are giving their time to crew the short. An amazing, high profile producer is attached - he produces television shows but has offered to help on my project for very little money. The director is a person who I've had the opportunity to work with in the past, and he's one of the most talented and creative people I've ever met. His wife, a world famous make-up artist for film, has also agreed to help.
Where does your money go:
The budget for the film is $5000, that's two days of shooting at $2500 a day. If we can raise more, it can only help boost the production quality of the short, and help generate more exposure for my pilot. A large portion of that money will go towards paying the crew (grips, lighting, sound, actors, best boys, wardrobe - all those departments that are necessary for the film but often get overlooked when it comes to being paid for shorts). Too many people in this town work for free when they're getting started - your money not only supports my project, it supports the idea that everyone deserves to get paid, no matter what their role. The rest of the funds go to locations, props, equipment, wardrobe, etc.
Thank you in advance for any contribution you feel comfortable making. Every little bit helps and I greatly appreciate it. If you'd prefer to offer a "reward" instead (a piece of art or music, a service, an item, etc) that would be wonderful as well. I would put any contribution up on my page along with a link to your site, or where people can get more info about what you're up to.
With all my heart, I believe that making this short film will get the exposure I need to bring attention to my pilot and give it a serious chance out here in Hollywood. Thank you THANK YOU for helping me achieve my goals and dreams.
With Love,
Stephanie Greenquist

Actress. Writer. Lover. Fighter. A simple girl, a Swedish romantic, an amateur philosopher, a complicated woman. This lost child never felt so found.
Officially...Stephanie Greenquist realized her passion for writing at a very young age. By the time she was ten, she had already written and performed her first play at the Greenquist Theatre, conveniently located in the living room of her childhood home. While it did less than stellar numbers in the box office, Stephanie received shining reviews from the critics, her mom and dad. Motivated by the experience, her passion for writing was born.
Stephanie always had a story to tell, and through different mediums she would find a way to tell it. Her works have been published in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel newspaper, the Badger Herald, Melrose Heights magazine and most recently in the prestigious Wimpole Street Annual Writer's Anthology. Her first short film was produced in 2007, and the first feature film she wrote, entitled "Lemon Drop" is in pre-production and set to be released in 2013. She is the author of a graphic novel short entitled "Fragile Bodies," published last year by Ink Pen Mutations Press, and is shopping around a children's book and a dark comedy television pilot.
Stephanie's focus is mainly on writing gritty pieces that bring attention to the communities that society too often chooses to forget about. She enjoys creating character driven pieces that depict humanity in a way that is honest and true to life.
