Connected as Thomas Hayden (559 friends)
Introduced to 360° video in a little ski cabin in Girdwood, Alaska, Thomas Hayden brings lessons learned from five years experience specializing in 360° video production and marketing. Thomas' entire career has been focused on providing clients with an incredible experience. Starting as a river guide/expedition leader on the Colorado Plateau for the legendary Holiday Expeditions, he has taken thousands of clients down the magnificent rivers of Utah, Colorado, West Virginia, Mexico, and Alaska. He ventured into entrepreneurism in the travel industry in Denali Park, Alaska, and later brought his skills to the sales and marketing team at Alyeska Resort. It was only the opportunity to work with Google that pulled him away from ski town life. After jump starting Immersive Video Solutions in Anchorage, Alaska, Thomas was tapped to become one of the first producers for the Google Maps Street View project. With a daily shooting schedule and massive scale, Thomas became an expert at the intricacies of 360° video and helped build the foundations of a project that has now spanned the globe. Thomas was eventually brought in off the marketing department at Immersive Media and produced a variety of projects in multiple industries. Recently, Thomas has hit the blogging world with his 360° Video Blog, which has become the leading source of information regarding 360° video and all the latest advancements and players. Thomas holds a degree in Biology from the University of North Texas.
Hey Thomas,
you could easily buy a rugged laptop (toughbook), external harddrives.. or an image tank with more space for less money, i see no use for the plenty of SD-cards, 5 of them would be enough i think.
Hi Mark, thank you so much for your contribution to my project. I'd love to have the GigaPan images on your site once the project is finalized. I hear rumors of a flash plugin that will allow us to simply embed a player into any one of your pages. There are 28 images in all and I'm really excited about their variety, comprehensiveness, and detail. The other 2000 photos I shot are a lot of fun, too. I am building a website for the project and it should be a multimedia hodgepodge to tell the story of the trip. The images will be up in Google Earth, too, but I am still waiting on word as to whether they will accept the company logos or simply a list of sponsors on the images. Thank you again for your help and I'll send you the links to the first GigaPans I get up online. Will you send me an email at thayden360@gmail.com so I have a good address for you?
Hi Syndie! I heard that you came to Lee's Ferry to see us off and I was blown away. I so wish that we had been able to meet. I was truly humbled that you would make that kind of effort. The group that launched with us was an extraordinarily awesome group to be on the river with and helped us out a number of times with advice. The time was enjoyed mightily and I'm really happy with the images.
So excited that you hit your goal. What a chance of a lifetime. Enjoy every blessed minute. Can't wait to see the final project.
Let us know when the project is complete. We would love to put it on our site.
