Update #13: What a great year, Thank You!
The year is drawing to a close and I'd like to take a moment to reflect on what Exhibit A's backers helped make possible in 2010.
Thanks to you, Exhibit A raised $4,545.00 through a Kickstarter project.
More than twice that amount has been paid out to visual artists since then!
Nineteen artists were featured in six exhibitions; they included regional artists as well as artists from places like California, England and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Exhibit A also helped WSKG raise money by hosing "Art in Motion" in May.
Numerous people attended openings and exhibitions;
For example, over 300 attended the opening of glass exhibition held in conjunction with Corning's inaugural GlassFest. and our most recent reception had 132 guests.
The guestbook is filled with with the names of people from places as far away as Alaska, Israel and China. I like to believe that Exhibit A has been able to contribute to visitors' enjoyment Corning, NY.
Four pieces were purchased by the Corning Museum of Glass, many other artworks are now on display in people's homes and businesses and in the fall Exhibit A displayed a public sculpture on the facade of the building.
And it's only getting better!
Exhibit A has an exciting exhibition calendar in place for 2011 and I'm looking forward to building on the successes of the past year, the successes you helped bring about.
Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
Thank You,
Ann Welles,
Director, Exhibit A
Update #12: FINISH LINE in sight !
Hello all,
As we head into the final nine hours of Exhibit A's Kickstarter project people are still pledging! I'm so happy the goal has been met and am in awe that people are willing to help out even more.
In response, I have added a little information to Exhibit A's Kickstarter page about what funds that go beyond the goal will be used for. I may be able to have my own pedestals sooner than I dreamed possible!
Ann
Update #11: Was that the Goal that just Zoomed by ? !

Update #9: Artist Allen Bentley attending Dec. 5 party at Exhibit A
For those of you who chose tickets to the December 5th party here at Exhibit A, I have news. Allen Bentley will be joining us!
His exhibition Roundabout is currently showing at Exhibit A and will still be on view the night of the party. Allen is a fabulous artist as well as a gracious and insightful individual. I'm thrilled he will be here available to talk with you about his work.

Update #8: New Reward!
Exhibit A is closing in on 60% funded and has close to 50 backers already!
This is fantastic... but there are fewer than 20 days left to reach 100%!
I've added a new reward, "Artist Autograph Postcard Collection" in response to the number of people who have pledged from out of state. Check it out, you can alter your reward selection if you like.
And if you haven't checked out the new video that I've posted, please do. You will see just a few of the artists that will be showing in 2010. It will also give you an idea of what some of the exhibition postcards will look like.
Other ways you can help:
Email the link for Exhibit A's Kickstarter project along to anyone who might want to participate or even if you think they will enjoy seeing the video.
If you have any ideas for great rewards I should consider adding or ways I can reach possible backers I'd love to hear them.
I'll keep you posted on developments!
Thanks for all your support,
Ann
Update #7: NEW VIDEO - shows 2010 ARTISTS!
Check out the new video I have posted.
It gives you just a taste of some of the fantastic artists that will be showing at Exhibit A in 2010.
(And it's sooo much nicer than my first video.)
I'd love to hear your feedback.
Another way you can really help out Exhibit A's Kickstarter project is to pass this link along to others who might be art curious!

There's not much time to reach the goal!
Thanks so much for your support,
Ann
Update #6: Selection Jury for Sticker Design!
Okay, you know those stickers I've promised everyone? I've got to get to work designing them.
I was going to post that the next three people who became backers would be the official sticker selection jury. I did post in on Facebook and already have 1 of the 3!
So now it's the next TWO people; they get to be on the selection jury! And if you think "Exhibit A Sticker Selection Jurist" would look fabulous on your resume but have already pledged, well, you can always increase your pledge!
Thanks for your support,
Ann
Update #5: Almost a third of the way there!
I can't believe we are almost a third of the way to the goal!
Tomorrow evening there is a great exhibit opening here at Exhibit A. I will be so excited to tell folks how well this Kickstarter project is going! It means more great shows in 2010 which is great news for Exhibit A and the artists that will be showing here.
Thanks,
Ann

I can't believe we're closing in on 20% and there's still 62 days still to go - very cool!
Update #1: New Video
Okay, just posted a new video. Actually it's a re-edit. Don't know why it's stretched a bit but I think it's still an improvement.

Exhibit A is a premier venue for contemporary art in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. Located in Corning's historic Gaffer District on the second floor of the Pure Design building, Exhibit A presents exhibitions of distinctive quality. However, this venture is not only about what happens in the gallery. Exhibit A is working to develop innovative events and services that showcase artists and tap into the wonder and excitement the visual arts can generate. We bring people and art together.
Exhibit A started only this year and already has: presented the work of over 90 different artists and designers from as far away as Amsterdam the Netherlands; helped WSKG raise money by hosting 'Beyond the Boudaries'; showed contemporary neon during the Glass Art Society's 2009 Conference; put on numerous events open to the public and participated in Corning Gallery Hops.
Facilities at Exhibit A's Market Street space include a main gallery and two additional smaller galleries that allow for great flexibility when presenting exhibitions. Exhibit A also features a media room where two can sit and experience new media art or watch informational videos about the artists and art that's being presented. Recently Exhibit A has been expanded to around 1100 square feet and will be upgraded as soon as possible to provide additional services.
Founded in 2009 by artist / curator Ann Welles, Exhibit A seeks to present great art thereby promoting artists' careers and bringing vibrancy to the community. Ms. Welles has 20 years experience as an artist. She has run 171 Cedar Art Center's Houghton Gallery since 2005, where she discovered she can get as excited about other artists' work as she does her own.
The 2009 Exhibition Series will conclude with a solo show by Allen Bentley that opens October 16.
