Thanks for your patience! 50/55 done!
Hey Everyone,
You may have realized we're running a little behind from our 10 day - post campaign - shipping out of finished kusudamas deadline. Turns out that estimate would have required Xander work under slave labor conditions, and it's summer so I just couldn't bring myself to do that ;)
I think we were just so excited in the beginning we didn't realize it takes about and hour to make each one, what with all the folding and pressing and glueing! I originally thought we could make 4-5 a day and in 10 days have everything finished! If anyone has any idea how to keep and 8 year old interested in one thing for 4-5 hours a day, and doesn't require duct taping him to the chair, please let me know :D
The good news is we have 50 of our 55 kusudamas finished. Only a few more left to go! They are piling up on the shelf above our desk. I have to admit I'm going to miss them, they're so pretty! The not - so - good news is we are leaving out of town on friday. The other good news is that I can, with confidence, say that by next week your kusudamas will be on their way to you! I will of course post and update to let you all know when they headed out.
Thanks so much for your patience!
Xander and Erica
Success!
Hey all you fancy backers!
The campaign is over and it was more than successful! Thanks so much for all your support and encouragement. Xander has been making a couple of spheres per day and we now have a solid production plan that should have all the kusudamas ready to ship out in 10 days! In the mean time I've sent out a survey to get all of your correct shipping addresses.
Ok, back to the production line! We can't wait to ship these out to everyone :)
Kusudama update - wow!!
We wanted to post a quick update video to let everyone know how excited Xander is at the success of his campaign! With every new backer he is amazed and encouraged. We have quite a few to make, he is working hard everyday to make all of you the best kusudamas possible.
Thanks so much to all of you for making this such a memorable project. I wish I could make a video for you every time he gets a new backer, he just swells with pride and gets excited all over again.
You guys are the best! :)
(thanks to Mike for editing this video so we could keep working on the kusudamas ;))
