The Dead Have Risen, and nothing can stop them. The world we once knew is gone and the skeleton that is left is for us to re-shape into our new world.
Deadlands III: The New World comes from Maryland based low budget writer/director Gary Ugarek, who has made the 2006 and 2008 films Deadlands: The Rising and Deadlands 2: Trapped. This two time award winning filmmaker is ready to launch and create the last film in his Deadlands series.
The Hollywood studio system doesn't seem to believe enough in the zombie genre, yet they are the largest pop culture icon in horror cinema. Most studio backed zombie films aren't willing to take the needed risks to make the films as dark and edgy as they should be for the genre.
My dream since Deadlands 1 has been to make the largest scale zombie film I could make on very little money, but providing the needed scares and apocalyptic element that fans have been wanting and waiting for since their beloved genre began
With each film I have made I have time and time again stated the importance of a dark and forboding atmosphere in the genre. I don't believe in the over use of gore and cheese to tell the story, I want the story to come from within.

This film and screenplay has been in development for 2+ years and the same thing comes to light. Can we make it funnier? Or PG-13, or Maybe tone it down a bit make a popcorn summer action-er... This is not the zombie genre, this is not what fans want. The studios don't understand this so great projects go by time and time again because of the interference.
I have assembled a great creative team, the cinematographer from Deadlands 2 is back, and we have the support of our community and fans. We just lack the funding. We have tried every avenue, so now we leave it up to you, the fans of art, cinema and horror to decide if it gets made or not.
Deadlands III will be filmed in MD, PA, and VA once we receive funding the project will be updated bi-weekly at the official website at www.playingwithdeadthings.com.

I think once you read the screenplay you will agree this is the zombie film of the 21st century.
With donation amounts starting at a dollar I am willing to bet we can find 1,000,000 fans willing to donate $1.00 to this project. Kickstarter thinks I am nuts, but I truly and honestly believe it can be done.
If we don't pull it off no one loses anything. If we do... I start making the largest zombie film one can make on a $1,000,000 budget.
