Using a self constructed pedal powered boat made from various nautical and bicycle parts - I plan to boat down the entire length of the Mississippi River - 2,320 miles from Lake Itasca, Minnesota to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Here's the plan: (well... A story of the plan perhaps)
I am having a hard time coming up with a concrete “plan” as such, because a plan somehow demands a reason or end goal.
Obviously the end “goal” is to make it all the way down the Mississippi river to New Orleans… But I don’t really feel as if that is my reason for this trip. I am filming the whole process and intend on making a documentary film about the experience. But that is not the reason for the trip either...
What this is, is an attempt to do Something - Inspiring others to do get out and do their own "Something"; to have adventures, explore, and follow their curiosity wherever it may lead.
Why did I pick the Mississippi River then? In the summer of 1976, my father, age 24, attempted to drift down the Mississippi River in a raft from his hometown in, Morrison, Illinois to New Orleans.
I found myself more and more hearing about people doing all kinds of amazing things around the world and thinking to myself one day I would do something like that.. I looked at myself and thought, well, what AM I doing?
So anyways - this trip is, yes, about going down the Mississippi river in one respect. And, yes, it is about doing something my dad did when he was my age. But most of all it is about getting off the couch, out of my house, and attempting something unfamiliar. Meeting new people, seeing new places, trying new things, and doing Something - - Inspiring others though interaction on the web, on film, and face to face.

I have used my own money to build the boat and prepare for the trip – I need your help with the day-to-day expenses.
Each dollar is equal to one mile of support in my Project Rewards system… I expect to travel 30 miles per day / 5 days per week - 2,320 miles total. Your donation will help me with the daily needs:
Food and drink (Bread, PB, J, etc.)
Purchasing maps along the way

Safety equipment
Misc. parts and hardware needed for the boat (things WILL break and need replacing along the way)
