This is what $10,000 will allow us to build
Free Adventures is a road-trip documentary that will follow our story as we journey across North America and back, with the enticing twist of spending absolutely no money on lodging, fuel, or even food.
Our purpose is to provide an entertaining and practical example of living and traveling sustainably. To do this, we plan on reusing much of the waste we produce as a wealthy nation, and by trading creativity, effort, and community service for life’s basic essentials.
Now what do we need $10,000 for if we are living completely free? Well, the only expense that hasnt been covered is the cost of the bus we will be traveling in. That is where your part in our adventure takes its form. We are investing in a motor coach that we are outfitting to run on good ol' vegetable oil. We will also use the donated funds to completely remodel and enhance the vehicle to become our portable command center, filled with all the sustainable technologies to keep us carbon responsible during our 45 day trip.
We will host a version of the documentary on our website, CaperBox.com, for FREE.
At the end of our journey, after everything is said and done, we plan to sell the bus and to give away the proceeds. While our first desire was to return the money to our backers... the kickstarter rules forbid "any kind of financial return". So the next best thing we can think of to do, is to let you decide what you want done with the money!
One thing we recommend is putting it back into the kickstarter community. You can email us the link to whichever project you wish to support and then we will make a donation to that project according to the amount you originally donated. You can also send us a message telling us what you want done with your money, like if you want it donated to a special charity, or if you want us to keep it to help support our future endeavors .
So if you are intrigued, enticed, excited, please consider supporting. You can donate whatever you would like here, on our kickstarter webpage and you'll not only be helping us realize our dream, but you'll be helping many others down the road.
There is also, a sleugh of fun incentives that you can get depending on how much you donate, from your name in the documentary, to personalized postcards we will be sending while on the trip, to even the opportunity for you and a friend to be picked up by us, be interviewed, go on adventures, and be chauffeured to any destination along our route up to 500 miles away!
We totally understand if you don't have much money to give. Thats okay! Just show your support and leave your mark by SPREADING THE WORD! Because if we dont reach our goal of $10,000, the money is not collected, and we don't see a penny! It would be back to square one! We will pick you and a friend up, have adventures with the two of you, share a picnic on our grass roof, and will be given the option to be interviewed for the documentary. We can then drop you off anywhere you like within the perimeters of our route, up to 500 miles away. We'll also give you the shirt off our back (you know, the totally cool Free Adventures one).
