Update #1: The Crap Away Website is Up

Posted on November 22, 2011

I created a website for Crap Away.  It is CrapAway.com.  I acquired the domain name a couple of years ago for a fairly reasonable amount in the hopes that someday I could launch this brand.  The site includes a slogan contest with the winner receiving a free case of Crap Away Toilet Paper.  Through friends and family I've already received a few entries, but I'm excited to see what others submit.  It is funny but people really do seem to love to discuss toilet paper, especially toilet paper with a silly name.

Perhaps we have something, I'm not sure.  $18k is a lot of money to raise.  We'll see how we do.  Thanks everyone for the pledges and for the help.

I'm going to sign off each update with a silly slogan, here is my favorite:  Crap Away - Gets You Clean In The End...  :)

I did a few media interviews this week. I haven't yet sent out a press-release about the project yet, but I did let a couple of reporters that I thought would be interested know about it. I'll see if they pick it up. If not, I'll send out a press release through a wire service my company uses next week.

Also, Crap Away now has a facebook page as well. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Crap-Away/230045103730170… I hope you will like it and tell some friends about the project. Thanks.

Oh well friends, thanks for supporting my silly project. I am happy that Kickstarter helped answer any questions about the viability of Crap Away. I am very happy that I didn't have to invest any significant funds to find out it wasn't going to be successful.

I wish you all the best and thanks again!

I'm a Dad first. I have three kids. I'm an entrepreneur 2nd. I run PriveCo Inc. a successful internet company. I'm also a best-selling author of three Pumpkin Carving books (ExtremePumpkins.com). I'm a decent husband too, but then again I have a really patient wife.

Finally, if there is time, I do volunteer work. I'm the leader of the Mower Gang, we mow the mostly-abandoned parks and playgrounds in Detroit. As far as volunteer work goes, it's fun and easy. The mower does most of the work. :)
