We are the Burning Opera (www.burningopera.com), a group of San Francisco-, LA-, and Seattle-based folks who recently produced How to Survive the Apocalypse, a successful rock opera about the origins and evolution of Burning Man. The show premiered in workshop form Jan. 16, 2009 at San Francisco's Stage Werx to an enthusiastic, sold-out audience, and to great reviews. We then finished writing the show, and performed nine sold-out performances at Teatro ZinZanni in San Francisco in October, 2009 — again to great community acclaim. An ambitious and ferociously inventive radically-altered evening of musical theater, the show is scored by Mark Nichols, with libretto by counterculture writer Erik Davis.
if you get done by Burning Man maybe set something up for CD pickup to save on postage!

We broke through $7k! So close...
Roadshow, we have the space for you to do it in Des Moines, IA. I am sure we can find space in Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, and Kansas City too!
I would pay the $4000 to have the cast come to my house.... But I don't have that kind of money....
Holy moly, we're almost there!
You know what, I'd love to see a $4000 backer, mostly because I want an excuse to go to someone's home to perform this beautiful piece of trans-formative art again, and see all of my beautiful freaks.
Yes, on the roadshow, and I'll be a groupie, following slavishly from town to town, looking for any opportunity to do something to assist the amazing cast !
Wow, 1 day down and over 10% of the way there! Rock and roll!
I hope that someday, there's not only a CD, but also a full-on roadshow to sweep the nation!
