About this project
The V-luxe is a high-end iPad accessory stand that makes it easier and more fun to watch movies or listen to music. It is made to look like a retro-styled television set with swivel and tilt adjustments as well as a compartment for an accessory speaker such as the FoxLv2. The V-luxe began as an idea for a birthday gift for my sweetheart. He loved it so much that we thought other people might like one too.
The prototype needs a few minor adjustments to make it more suitable for an initial production run and I’d like to develop a similar but scaled-down model for the iPhone and iPod touch. I already have a small workshop with access to many of the saws and tools needed for the project but I need a planer, a jointer and a few powered hand tools to get started. Funding for this project will be used to purchase those tools and to buy the materials for an initial production run for both models. I hope to have the V-luxe and its smaller counterpart, the V-luxe Jr. market-ready in time for the spring design shows.

In our video, we show off the FoxLv2, a wireless, high-quality speaker that fits nicely in the V-luxe compartment. However, if you need to connect wired speakers, you can plug into your iPad via the speaker port on the top right of the V-luxe and run the cable through an access port in the bottom of the compartment. The photos below show some small Chill Pill speakers that retail for $49.99 but can be found for less in various online stores.
