Hi... We're THE VIM DICTA, a kind of unusual and eclectic Rock-like trio. Lots of people say we remind them of like 12 different bands... but those very same people also say that we don't really sound like any of them... or like anyone else either! And that's just FINE with us! Coz, all we want to do is play and create awesome music; free from the bounds of any particular genre. We don't want to be just a 'rock' band or a 'psychedelic' band. We simply want to be known as a great band and be free to play our own form of music for as many people as possible. Each of us has a deep, passionate love for our craft and for our music... we work hard to make it show and that's all there is to it!
We have a ton of great material and are ready to get some of it out there SO... we are asking ALL OF YOU (our fans, friends, and family) to PLEASE HELP US spread the word of THE VIM DICTA by helping us with our first full length album!!
So why is this such a good time? Well... ever since our preceptual genisis, the moment the band became a 'band'; we've been searching far and wide for the right engineer/producer who could capture our driving energetic raw sound. As Fate would have it (and much to our surprise): He found us!
Shane Smith (Los Lobos, Rumspringa, Feist), who is a partner in a great sounding studio in East Los Angeles called Manny's eStudio, worked out a terrific arrangement with our manager, Dan Nash... and to test out the relationship; we worked on four songs together and it went really well!! So now, with the team in place, everything is set up and ready to go!!
To get started, we need a little kick from you guys by donating whatever you can afford. Rest assured that 100% of the funds we collect will go directly to production and distribution of the finished album. Any level of support will be valued and deeply appreciated... and in return, we've come up with all sorts of cool stuff to reward you: from the digital release and a limited edition vinyl, to jackets, posters, short-run t-shirts, dinner with the band at the best Thai restaurant in LA... and even the most SWAG-TASTIC MiND BLOwiNG private gala event for you and 50 of your closest and classiest friends!!
