We like to record on old fashioned analog studio equipment, tape machines and tape echos.  We appreciate the precision, time, and investment it takes to record this way, and the difference is audible.  We're asking our fans to contribute to this recording process by pre-paying for a copy of the record, or by simply making a donation.  This will allow us to self release a record modestly, and on our own terms. 

Your money will go directly into paying for our recording fees: engineer, tape, studio time, etc. Secondly, it will allow us to professionally master our finished product and prepare it for manufacturing. Finally, your pledges or pre-payments will allow us to have a run of 1000 CDs made and to have a copy sent directly to your home. If we get really lucky, we may even have the means to achieve one of our long term goals... to press our music onto vinyl LP albums!  This would be the ultimate realization of our 'regress in order to progress' mode of operation. The Whispering Pines play and pay homage to a type of music that we think is really important. We recall American musical tradition, attempt to deal with themes of substance, and play with genuine sincerity. Out first attempt to follow these principles can be heard on our self produced debut album Family Tree.  Please help spread the word about our campaign so we can continue to record music our way.
