I&BKLYN&U is a romantic comedy project that aims to bring you a modern romance without any of the artificial sweetener.

ABOUT I&BKLYN&U:

I&BKLYN&U is a romantic comedy project that aims to bring all the romance without any of the artificial sweetener. The show follows the lives of Dennis and Madeline as they navigate through their first year living together.  With Brooklyn as the backdrop the audience takes the perspective of a fly on the wall watching the couples life unfold.

Unfulfilled by the current state of romantic comedies, and tired of watching programs that painted an unrealistic portrait of their age group (late 20’s and early 30’s), the creators of I&BKLYN&U saw an opportunity to create something fresh and current that would be relatable to their audience. In the words of the show’s writer Luis M. Echegaray “We don't all live in big, expensive lofts, we don't all have perfect relationships that go on wild adventures every episode, we don’t argue and fight to hell and back and then make up by the time credits roll.”

Feeling that the nuances of everyday relationships were being overlooked, Luis wanted to write a script that captured the time in your life after you have learned how to be a grown-up, but are still learning how to share yourself with someone else.  By stripping away all the stuff that’s not needed (Laugh tracks, special effects, live studio audiences, etc.) and just showing you something from the heart, I&BKLYN&U gives you something that is sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always genuine and honest.

For a little taste of I&BKLYN&U please take a look at the teasers below:

WHY I&BKLYN&U:

This project exists because we at I&BKLYN&U are honest to goodness fans of television, and Rom-Com's are our guilty pleasure.  Because we wanted to see an honest everyday romance on screen we took money out of our own pockets and sunk every free minute we had into making this show a reality.  In today's media landscape where almost anyone can start a film project, many good ideas get off the ground, but most find a fast ceiling before they are fully realized.  At every stage of the process, but especially during post production, quality film projects fall apart fall apart due to lack of funds, disorganization or distraction.

We at I&BKLYN&U want to be here for our audience.  Our team is organized and ready to follow this one all the way through, all we need is a little financial help from the kickstarter community to make this happen.

WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO:

All the money you donate on Kickstarter will go to making sure that the pilot episode for I&BKLYN&U is completed, and hopefully can find life going forward.

Finishing Funds for the film:

The pilot for I&BKLYN&U is shot and in the can, but it is far from complete.  We need money to make sure that we can complete the post production process. Things like sound looping, color correction and re-shoots are expensive and necessary to completing the project and delivering a high quality product for our audience

Funds to turn a pilot into a series:

In order to take the pilot episode into what can hopefully become a sustainable series on TV or the internet, we need help and funding from the Kickstarter community.  These funds will help pay for things from the creation of a series board and a working and active website to submission fee's for film festivals world wide.  The I&BKLYN&U team is committed to doing everything possible to draw attention to the show, if no one notices, it won't be from lack of effort.
