Hello Everyone!
Twenty years ago, I was adopted from Quezon City, the Philippines, when I was 13 months old. After much encouragement from my adoptive parents, I decided to begin a search. I have contacted the original adoption agency, Kaisahung Buhay, and also the Pearl S. Buck Foundation's search services. Furthermore, I plan on searching for my original baptismal records in hopes of finding the Catholic church in which I was baptized. I will be documenting every step of this process on video for my senior thesis film.
This search will take time and money. Regardless of whether or not I have located them by January of 2011, I still plan on flying to the Philippines at that time. This will give me the opportunity of documenting my experiences in the culture of my birth for the very first time since leaving the country in 1990. Money raised would go towards airfare, food, and lodging in the Philippines for myself and my film crew. A great deal of the budget is airfare [approx. $1600 per person] and this is what we need help with the most. Our initial goal is to fundraise enough for myself and my cinematographer to go over. We will be shooting the majority of the film with the Canon 7D.
