ExtraCore V2 in Pre-order store

Update #43 · Jan 8, 2013 · comment

Thanks to you Kickstarters ExtraCore V1 was a success. Now it's sold out and I need to make more. I've upgraded the design with a built in power regulator.

ExtraCore V2 is ready for production. Now all I need is enough pre-orders to get the ball rolling. I am taking pre-orders for 2 weeks on tindie.com. Please check out the page and help get the word out.

Thanks so much for all your help. I hope you are enjoying your V1 boards.

Robotic Minion retail sales begin today

Update #42 · Dec 6, 2012 · comment

I got a limited number of extra Robotic Minions made and they are now for sale at https://tindie.com/shops/dustinandrews/robotic-minion-starter-kit/ for $60+shipping.

Robotic Minion is sort of on the opposite end of the spectrum from ExtraCore. Where the ExtraCore is a cut down Arduino compatible with just the basics, the Robotic Minion has lots of stuff built in. Starting with a 16x2 LCD screen, built in USB and an enclosure. Check out the video in the link to see what else it can do.

Please also consider checking out the other merchants on tindie.com. It's a marketplace for maker made electronics and other techno goodies. There are lots of open source goodies there.

Happy Holidays!

How does ExtraCore compare to Digispark?

Update #40 · Aug 24, 2012 · comment

Some poeple have asked how the platforms compare.I've writting a detailed blog post about the differences.

Bottom line: Both are great platforms. Digispark is perfect for simple projects. ExtraCore is better when you need more sketch space, more pins, or things like on board i2c.
