About this project
Hi, I'm Amy. I'm making a movie. As in a full-length feature film.
I'm hoping to release it on 11/11/11.
I haven't done this before (meaning make a feature film...but it also applies to what I am doing right here... reaching out to you via Kickstarter). While I am lacking in Hollywood experience (and height), I believe this is to the film's advantage; it has the potential to be unlike anything you've seen or experienced before. What is my main (non-monetary) goal here? In thinking about how to best answer that big and important question, a line from the Arcade Fire song "We Used To Wait" came to mind. Here it is, slightly paraphrased: I am hoping to create something pure that can last. Thanks for taking the time to consider supporting The Beckoning of Lovely. At this point I think it is best for me to step aside and let you get a tangible sense of the project with the following videos and critical reviews:

"Even if you’re not the type to look for meaning in your everyday life, Rosenthal’s videos serve as a gentle reminder to be nice. Slow down. Make things. Play. Say 'I love you' and 'I’m sorry.' And do it now because . . . well, you know 'Being alive is a good thing.'" - Chicago Magazine (Read full article) "The Beckoning of Lovely . . . did a funny little thing to my heart when I first saw it. I'm not going to try to explain it. I'm simply going to say that, in a very difficult time, Amy asked the world to make lovely things." - Author Beth Kephart (Read full article) "We fell in love with the video . . ." - TedActive Conference "It goes to show how the power of one could inspire others to gather and connect and create something, anything that makes you feel good. . . . I don't want to spill the beans on the lovely movement she's created; you'll just have to watch for yourself." -The Huffington Post (Read the full article) ---
