Our First Cover-song Reward:

The Project:

Cherisse and Tim want to share their story the best way they know how: through music. They each offer a different perspective on this story, as well as a different sound for their songs. With so much to say and so many ways of saying it, they have decided to make a double album. Each disc will be a standalone record, presenting their unique side of the story. It's mostly written, but they don't have the resources to make it on their own. That's where you and Kickstarter come in.

The Story:

Form-fitted for one another, Cherisse and Tim met in '04 and married in '09. Two months later, Cherisse was diagnosed with a brain tumor; it was discovered after a sudden onset of seizures. The proceeding two and a half years were a dramatically atypical beginning to a marriage. Brain surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, displaced living arrangements, job loss, and dump-trucks of emotional surprises were awaiting them at every turn.

However, their faith bound them at their beginning and their faith sustained them through their trouble. Feeling oddly blessed, their experience reinforced their trust in God and solidified their common convictions. 

Music also bound them at their beginning, each having taken a long journey as songwriters before they knew one another. Each having developed their own, unique sound, they admired and encouraged one another in their craft. 

Brain tumors, God, and music have bound them and brought them to this point- this desperate endeavor- where they were destined to arrive.
