About this project
We have been hard at work this past year touring and writing what will become our epic first album Wildlife Pop. We've been very fortunate to gain the attention of producer Chris Zane who has worked with several artists such as Passion Pit, Mumford and Sons, Holy Ghost!, and Les Savy Fav.
Since we self released our debut EP Ordinaire almost a year ago, we have gained an amazing fan base via the internet and word of mouth. We believe we owe it to our fans, friends, and family to create the best sounding debut album we can.
Like most struggling bands, most if not all of our money is spent on touring and making sure the rent gets paid. This is a huge opportunity for us and we are calling on our fans to help make this a reality!

Stepdad was formed in a sweltering Chicago apartment in the summer of 2009 when two songwriters turned roommates, Ultramark and Ryan McCarthy, began writing songs together. The duo relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they finished their first EP called “Ordinaire”. Due to an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the 8 songs contained on this EP, the boys added long time friend and bassist Alex Fives and began performing their pop jams in front of many a crowd.
