I'm the editor of the online magazine, Redstone Science Fiction: http://redstonesciencefiction.com
We established our magazine as market to pay SF writers a pro rate of 5 cents/word for new fiction & 1 cent/word for reprints. Each issue is available online, and as a PDF & EPUB. We fund it ourselves.
We have been publishing the equivalent of 4000 new words/month, about $200, since June 2010. We would like to increase that to approximately 8,000 new words/month for March, April, and May, which will complete our first year.
Any money we receive would go to the authors of stories we accept for publication, most of whom are new writers. This $600 Kickstart would allow us to get more of their work online sooner.

My day job is teaching AP US History and AP Economics in north Alabama. I write SF & I'm the radio announcer for my school's sports. In previous lives I was a cook, an Army linguist, a park guide, a retail/restaurant manager, an exercise scientist, & an honors hall director.
