Let’s change the world for people with disabilities now! Join us on our journey to Uzbekistan as we show our award winning film, "Body & Soul: Diana & Kathy", to the fascinating people of this country that is not well known to some of us. Support our video blog and short documentary about how a woman with Down syndrome, Diana, travels half way around the world to show her film, connects with filmmakers and advocates, expands the definition of ability, and brings the promise of human rights to new friends.

"Body & Soul: Diana & Kathy" is an hour long, award winning documentary, which screened on PBS and will be re-broadcast this fall. (www.dianaandkathy.com). It tells the story of two women, life-long companions, who defy expectations by living independently and advocating for people with disabilities. Diana, with Down syndrome, (www.nads.org) and Kathy, with cerebral palsy, (www.ucp.org), use humor, determination, and their friendship to create a unique family unit that surprises people at every turn.

"Body & Soul: Diana & Kathy" has been invited through the American Documentary Showcase, (http://www.documentary.org/ads2010) and the University Film and Video Association (www.ufva.org/showcase) to screen for a week in Uzbekistan (www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzbekistan) this November.

I will be going, courtesy of the U.S. State Department, but I want to bring the film’s surviving subject, Diana Braun, to make a short follow up video. Diana will be speaking and showing people in Uzbekistan how a person with Down syndrome can be a fully integrated, contributing member of our world community. Join us on our travels and participate as Diana changes the world!
