AM 1610 The Station is a low-power AM radio station broadcasting in Hamtramck, Michigan and on the internet. Our mission is to play, promote, and export Michigan artists' work to the people of earth.
We're designing and completing our studio with the generous support of The Kresge Foundation and could use some help building our Michigan vinyl library. ASCAP and BMI licensing kicks in on January 1, 2010. In celebration we'll be broadcasting our first live show starting at midnight on new-year's eve.
Your donations will be spent at The Record Graveyard, Detroit Threads, and a number of Michigan labels. This project supports local businesses as well as local artists.
Our vinyl wish list includes but is not limited to:
The Frost
The Amino Acids
The Stooges
Alice Cooper
Adult
MC5
Negative Approach
Patti Smith
Docile
Stevie Wonder
The Go
Del Shannon
The Terrible Twos
Project location: Hamtramck, MI
Founder: An on-air thank you. We'll mention you or your organization during one of our live shows, thanking you for helping us found our vinyl library.
