About this project
We're enhancing our studio to allow live in-studio performances. It's going to be awesome and you can help turbo-charge the process.
We've got our eye on a $500 mixing board and some vintage microphones. Help us out by pledging a couple dollars or donating old equipment to The Station. We have some capacity to fix things, so drop us a note if you've got old electronics, cables, or mic statnds laying around.
History
We've grown faster than we'd imagined and see no reason to put on the brakes. It's our aim to leave an indelible mark on the Detroit Music scene and we're inviting you to be a part of it.
May 2009: The Station goes on the air in Hamtramck. Playlists and automation are crude and there is no capacity for live broadcasts.
January 2010: Broadcast studio complete. ASCAP and BMI licensing secured. The Station airs it's first live broadcast at midnight starting with "Future Now" by The MC5.
February - November 2010: Programming develops with Hamtramck DJs. New shows are developed, aired, and recorded. Sundays become live broadcast days from 1pm-11pm. All shows are recorded for re-broadcast during the week. More local music is added.
Now it's December 2010 and we'd like to socialize the development of our capacity to have live in-studio sessions. The plan is to build an all-analog studio with a lot of vintage equipment.
