One of our band members passed away in 2006, leaving us with many unfinished songs. We are trying at last to complete this project.
Hello there!
We are the Stevedores, and we are trying to make a new record.
We performed together when we were in college, and continued after moving from NYC to Madison, WI, having made one record, Tamuawok.
We wrote and practiced for that summer, getting ready to make another record when all of the band would be living together that winter.
In December of 2006, our lead singer passed away, dying of cancer at the age of 20.
The rest of us moved to the four corners of the country, and have never performed the record that would have been titled The Straw That Broke The Camel's Heart.
We are all older now, and while we know that the past cannot be recaptured, we want to take these songs and record them well enough to honor the past and look into the future.
