Friends can be the deepest source of support - and pain. Looks like you've learned to follow your own heart-head into the rest of your life. Remember that other people can't always know what's best for you, but they can help you figure out who you can be.

Update #4: Brenna McBroom : Homeschool To Unschool

Posted on June 25, 2009

I have to tell you - this project has been so much fun in terms of meeting and hanging out with people. Broc, Gail, Brenna...the whole family, all hanging out at Sandra Dodd's house with my family. Nice way to spend an afternoon...and really a very unschool-y way to make a film.

Here's another great little segment from Brenna. More interviews coming and again - all the interviews in raw for for $50 contributors, while we still have some left..

Isn't it interesting that even as young as you were, Brenna, you thought An Education meant all that stuff that people find in schools. Hooray for un-school! =) Robin

Lee, each time I get an update, the message where the video should play is "Sorry, to view this video you need to enable Javascript (it is enabled) and install Flashplayer v9 or higher (mine is v10)." Is this an explorer problem? Explorer combined with Vista problem?

I learned this from my sister long ago. Her philosophy was to re-frame no's into yeses. For example if a young child asks if they may to learn to drive, instead of simply saying, "no, you can't drive you are too young", say, "yes, you may drive when you are 16". After using this re-framing of no's into yeses, it became a habit. Then it morphed into really thinking about yes more often.
