Unsuccessful Kickstarter Funding
We would like to thank everyone that helped support our project, we really appreciate it. We received a ton of great comments and encouragement, and the few sites/publications that actually looked at our project were pretty positive about it. Unfortunately, in spite of our efforts to generate some publicity, we were never able to build the momentum we needed to reach our funding goal. Because of the general lack of interest in the project and our inability to secure funding we have decided to permanently shelf the project and have no plans to finish it. Thanks again for your support.

Why not sell it and depending on the money you make off it update date it don't let it go to waste at least make some money of it if you can rather than not at all ?
Creator Raymond Jacobson on June 5, 2012
The general lack of interest was probably because of the rare updates or media attention you may or may have not brought to this kickstarter. I wouldn't shelf the game just because of this. The game almost looks like it was gonna be great. I'd continue working on it as much as possible, look for publishers and try to finish it. Don't let a single kickstarter get you down.

I'd suggest going the Minecraft route. Open, paid-for beta. It looks like you've got something playable. That's enough to do early access open paid beta. Build a community around it, and when you start to get some community traction you can do a "polish it for launch" kickstarter, as long as you make sure the people who supported you in the open beta have access to whatever goodness you put in the kickstarter pitch.
It even gives you a story to take to the game press.

The game looks awesome, I'd highly suggest at least releasing it as-is open source over shelving it permanently :(

Sadness.. Great seeming project. I can't believe you would shelf it , it already looked so very playable from the videos already. Or at least seemed like a ton of fun. I feel like the lack of updates didn't really help it, because when there's no info for weeks it feels quite abandoned and that also shows in people's reactions and willingness to pledge :/

Rather than permanently shelf the project and see a tremendous amount of work go to waste, why not Open Source it? I bet there are some Linux geeks out there who would jump at the chance to adapt and finish a cool game for Linux.

That makes me sad, i hope you guys won't give up on game development as a whole because of this.
Perhaps make a small iPhone game or some like that
