About this project
Sweet Secrets spent the last year creating our new record Color Force in a reclaimed space arts co-op in the band's hometown of Seattle, WA. We had a great time recording, but we've run out of money on the project. We're humbly asking you to help us microfinance our efforts to manufacture our product and get it out to the world.
We've already recorded, mixed and mastered Color Force, and we're currently working on artwork and a PR campaign to coincide with the record's release. With your generous contribution to our project, we're going to make CDs for distribution around the world, pay for the mixing & mastering and help us spread the word.
A brief rant: years ago, corporate record labels would invest in artists and pay for the expenses incurred along the path to creating, promoting and distributing music (often times usurping creative control and diluting the output in the process). We don't want a label. We want YOU to help us be our own record label.

Born in the thriving and independent creative culture of the Pacific Northwest, Sweet Secrets is a rock band formed by collaborating Seattle songwriters, musicians, artists, recording engineers and friends. They bring together a variety of influences to craft a uniquely Northwest brand of hooky, emotionally-driven power pop. It’s music for smart, sexy people like you.
Following a stint as the lead singer of The Pop Logic, along with bassist Logan Bender joined violinist Corrina MacFarlane, keyboardist Andrea Wilson, and drummer Curtis Andreen (Brent Amaker and the Rodeo) creating Roger Lloyd and The Sweet Secrets; shortly thereafter renamed simply Sweet Secrets. In 2009, a self-titled EP was released, though soon enough Wilson and Andreen would leave to pursue other projects. Enter drummer Corey Knafelz (The Mexican Blackbirds, Tularosa), and guitarist Eric Severtson (Sunlighters, Fey Moth), lending their own psychedelic and garage rock influences to the foundation upon which Sweet Secrets sound was laid. A second EP, "Antlers" was released in the fall. Eleni Romano joined the band in the Fall of 2010 during recording sessions for a new album; lending her sultry vocals to the new material on the album and making her stage debut at the Crocodile in January of 2011.
The band will bring their debut full-length “Color Force”, mixed by Steven James Aguilar (The Head and the Heart, David Bazan), with a release set for Fall 2011. Their song 'Evidence of Good Times' will appear on Luz de Vida, a music project against violence to benefit the Tucson Together Foundation on Fort Lowell Records along with notable contributors Giant Sand, Calexico, John Vanderslice, Robyn Hitchcock and Spoon among many, many others.
