What's All This Then?
Borogove is a card game based off Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, And What Alice Found There. It was first seen in the pages of Skin Deep, with a Jub Jub Bird and a Bandersnatch playing the card game. At the time I just threw some words from Jabberwocky into the dialog to make it seem like a weird, fun game. Many readers expressed interest in actually playing Borogove, so I sat down and started to create a game. Now I want to print it so everyone can play and enjoy!
How Much Will This Cost, and Where Will The Money Go?
I'm asking for $5,500 dollars. The majority of that will go into printing 500 decks of cards, which according to the quote I got from my printer, will cost approximately 2,000 dollars, sans shipping. The rest will go towards various incidental costs such as packing and shipping the cards out to backers and funding the completion of the rest of the cards!
How close is the game to completion?
I currently have the box design, all four cards of the Hare Suit, all four cards of the Jabberwock suit, the card back, and the rules card completely finished. Part of the proceeds of the Kickstarter will go into the production of the rest of the cards, which would be the eleven other suits in the game.
Is it just a regular deck of cards?
Nope! This is a new game! Like a regular deck of playing cards, there are 52 cards, but instead of 4 suits of 13 cards each, the Borogove deck is comprised of 13 suits of 4 cards each. You can take a look at the rules right here to see how the game differs from a usual card game!

Sfé Monster, in addition to editing my chicken scratch so my words are readable and I don't sound like a raving lunatic, designed Borogove's Jub-Jub Birds and Momewraths. Also Sfé is an all round rad friend!

The Borogove Deck will be the same size as standard playing cards! 2.5 x 3.5 inches!

It was pointed out to me that my wording on the incentives weren't 100% clear, and since some people have selected them already (thank you thank you!) I can't edit them to make them more clear, so I'll do it here!
The $80 dollar incentive gets you a deck of signed cards, a wonderland sketch, a charm, and a high-quality 13x19 poster of the card fronts. The $250 incentive gets you all of that plus your name on the Acknowledgement card. All the incentives between the $80 and $250 incentives do NOT come with the 13x19 poster. I just wanted to make that clear! Thanks!

http://www.customizedplayingcards.com/ will be printing the cards. The cards will be printed from their factory in Florida, so every deck will be made in the USA.

Kory Bing was born three days before Halloween in 1984. She was named after a Harry Chapin song but her parents made up the spelling because they liked the letter “K” more than the letter “C”. After growing up in a river valley outside of a small town populated with 600 people, she moved two hours south and lived in the Ozarks for a few years, and now she lives in Portland, Oregon with all the other cool kids. She spends her days drawing comics about monster people.
