Update #11: "the voyage is done and the winds don't blow...
...and it's time for us to leave her." So goes the chorus to a favorite sea chanty. And so goes my farewell to this unbelievable maiden voyage on Kickstarter.
If you filled out the survey I sent back in March, all your goodies should be well on their way to all of you.
If you opted-in to my mailing list, please know that I look forward to keeping you updated as the work of using my voice to help people find their own voices continues to grow.
And if ever you miss me, come visit at minnabromberg.com.
Thanks to all of your support, "at the edge of the unknown" is finding its wings in the world. Here's me singing a favorite Dolly Parton song as a parting blessing to all of you.
Update #10: In press!
Well, Kickstart backers, "at the edge of the unknown" is being replicated as we speak, and the CDs should be landing on my porch by the end of this week.
If you gave me $50 or more and claimed your reward, your name is now up in lights at minnabromberg.com (OK, not actually lights, but scrolling pixels).
And if you haven't claimed your reward yet, please do.
I'm getting very excited to celebrate the CD's release on May 16th with a concert to which benefit Berks Women in Crisis. If you're local and haven't yet bought your ticket you can do that here. If you can't make it to the Miller Center (and some of you, dear backers, are very far away!) please know that I am planning to record the concert. I'll let you know when the recording is available.
This whole process has been such a wonderful and growthful experience and I thank you again for backing me and believing in my work!
All the best,
Minna
Update #9: Progress!
I'm delighted to tell you that work is going very well on "at the edge of the unknown." I'm putting the finishing touches on the downloadable pre-release EP which will have four songs on it and be called "ALMOST at the edge of the unknown." Soon I'll be sending surveys to ask you how you'd like to receive your download code.
And we are also making good progress on the plans for the CD release concert. It will be on Wednesday, May 16th here in Reading, PA at the Miller Center. Tickets are on sale now!
Birthing this album continues to be joyous work and I thank you for your part in it!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Martha, Stan, David and I could come for that and have a reunion......
But meanwhile, so happy to be a supporter. Anne

Update #8: In the studio
Thanks to your backing, recording is moving forward for "at the edge of the unknown." One of the things I'm proudest of in my time here in Reading, PA is that I was able to help start a group of "Community Singers" which is comprised of congregants from the two synagogues in town. Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of bringing six of these singers into the studio with me. Don't know that any of them had been in a recording studio before, but Marty got them all oriented and headphoned. They sang two songs: "I Lift Up This Waiting" which they've performed before and "Dig Deeper" which was brand new to them. They worked hard and, I hope, had fun too! I know I enjoyed sharing the recording studio experience with all of them.
In another week and a half our Community Singers be singing at the two synagogues in town for "Shabbat Shira" (the sabbath of song), and we'll be including at least two or three pieces that are on "at the edge of the unknown." It's so good to be continuing to weave together different parts of my rabbinate and my creative life.
Thanks for supporting me as I continue to enjoy weaving together seemingly disparate parts of work in the world!

Connected as Minna Bromberg (952 friends)
My passion is evoking our truest songs and our most authentic voices: my own, yes, and yours too! Constantly inspired by the cry of the Song of Songs, “Hashmi’ini, Let me hear you!” I use the techniques of singing and songwriting to help people add their unique contribution to the weave of creation. I have brought my innovative and integrative approach to voice, singing, and songwriting to rabbis, chaplains, high school students and folks struggling with mental illness in synagogues, churches, schools, sailboats, yoga studios and hospitals. I received my ordination from the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College and I live in Reading, PA where I serve as the rabbi of Kesher Zion Synagogue. “At the edge of the unknown” will be my fifth album.
