Hi my name is Lori Paradoski. Welcome to Operation: Opera Singer in Germany, my kickstarter campaign.

A little about me…

Singing has been a part of my everyday life since a young age. My parents always encouraged me to be musical and so I joined and sang in various ensembles and children’s choirs and also at church. I didn’t begin working on my opera instrument until I was about 19, when I was pursuing a vocal performance degree during my undergraduate years. There I began my love affair with performing. I was able to find a connection with not only my technique but also found my inner voice! I loved performing on stage! I went on to receive my masters in opera performance and immediately began auditioning for training and young artist programs, and boy coming to New York City to audition was a shock to this Texas girl…at first! Needless to say I got over it!

I moved to New York City about four years ago and have now fully committed
myself to becoming a working singer. Most of my work has taken me out of the city and around the United States. However, because of the downfall of arts in this tough economy singing jobs have become scarce, and building a musical resume has become more difficult. With help from my teachers and coaches I have found that my voice works best for Slavic languages and this is why I have decided to take a leap across the pond (so to speak) and try my hand at auditioning for the German opera system.

Why Kickstarter…

I am launching Operation: Opera Singer in Germany on Kickstarter and will be Performing a Project Recital at the end of July to offset the cost of my tour and to ensure that I am able to meet my goal. This Performance Recital will not only be a platform for me to showcase the audition repertoire I will be using to sing for agents & opera houses during my audition tour in Germany, but also provide me with a live recording and a live audience, which is extremely helpful for any performer trying to make the leap as a full time professional! But finding a music space, hiring musicians, and obtaining sound equipment has its costs.

A tremendous THANK YOU for your interest in my cause and for your support in keeping opera music relevant in todays society. I am very grateful for the opportunity to show the world my potential as an opera singer.
