Update #4: Gene Gardens is going strong.
I hope everyone is doing well.
For anyone interested in Gene Gardens please go over to http://www.genegardens.com. The webcomic is going strong. I hope you can enjoy the series and when we're ready to print the first book maybe we can do another Kickstarter campaign. If nothing else, at least you should be able to enjoy the work as it progresses.
I'm also working on my first Gene Gardens prose novella. That should be available for download this summer and could be an extra in the Gene Gardens graphic novel.

I'm starting to think that this project is really possible. The response is great and I've gotten a lot of emails saying that Gene Gardens looks great. Wonderful to hear. But we're still climbing a steep mountain to get fully funded. So keep spreading the word.
It's all or nothing. The book is almost done so I'd love to be sending it out as soon as I get copies.

Update #2: Still have time.
There is still plenty of time, but I really hope to get more pre-orders for Gene Gardens. I think I made a mistake of hoping that San Diego would help build momentum, but it didn't seem to work. I'm hoping that I can get you to tell three of your friends. If we could get 100 people to tell 300 of their friends who then tell 900 of their friends and so on....well we might be able to get enough preorders to print the book asap.
Even if sci-fi action horror isn't your thing, please tell 3 people that you know that might be interested. I'll owe you a big, big hug.
Update #1: Back from San Diego
Now that I'm back from San Diego I'll be able to work on promoting Gene Gardens more. If there are any questions about any of the incentives, please don't hesitate to drop me a note.
I just added a new option to get the first chapter as a digital comic book single immediately for $3. Hopefully that is a good way for some to try out Gene Gardens before committing to the entire book.

I have to admit that I don't see this project getting funding through Kickstarter. Sad, but it's not the end. I'm going to take a bit and may end this early, and as always no monies will be collected if we don't reach the goal. If I do another Kickstarter I'll have to see what I can do to build this up better.
But don't worry, Gene Gardens is still going to be published on time and is a book I'm very proud of. Hopefully everyone will get to read the reviews when that is available and purchase on Amazon. Thanks again for the LIKES and support so far.
Gene Gardens will sprout a new day.

I didn't do something right this time, but Jorge and I are working hard at finishing Gene Gardens. Hopefully it's good enough to get everyone excited. I really love this story and won't let it die. There aren't enough fun, smart, action adventure sci-fi stories these days.Thanks again for the support.

Writer - Shawn Granger grew up in Missouri and then worked for CNN in Georgia. He's written the fantasy/horror graphic novel "Innocent" and the science fiction, mystery comic book series "Mr. Phelps Space Detective". He's best known for his true crime graphic novel series "Family Bones"; the Gothic tale about Shawn's elderly serial killer aunt & uncle, Ray and Faye Copeland. Shawn has also written a short story for Jason May's "Rob Bot" series and worked with Stan Winston Studios to adapt Family Bones into a film before the sad passing of the beloved Mr. Winston. Shawn is still working on finding the project a new home as well developing a new webcomic series, finish a mystery prose novel, and continue to work on Gene Gardens.
Artist - Emilio Jorge Mongiovi is from Argentina and has worked on many comics for Bluewater Productions including "Rain" & "Paparazzi"; "Trailblazer" for Ramson Publishing; " La Nuit des Paras " from Editions du Triomphe; BOOM! Studios Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream with Electric Sheep?".
