Understand that most if not all of you might already have the adapter in the first place before you ordered the flybridge but thought some of you might want to know that there are cheaper alternative to the lighting adapter. There are plenty in the market but most does not fit the flybridge i.e. not the same size as the original Apple adapter. Found one at dealextreme that fits. Look for item# 184784. No guarantee on the reliability but at $3/pc, can't argue with the price.

Hi Jason I got mine here in Scotland, UK yesterday. The black one fits a gloss black John Lewis DAB clock radio perfectly as if they came in the same box. The phone is now stable enough to use the touchscreen when docked. The white one fits our Apple universal dock perfectly too. Thanks!

Received mine today, works as promised! Despite knowing this was designed with the naked device in mind, I was hoping that it might dock with the case still on, but no such luck. Debating taking a Dremel to the support bar in attempt to make room for the extra thickness of the case.

Flybridge is compatible only with the Universal dock system. See link below. The ExtremeMac products don't seem to follow this standard.

Received mine without any problem, but adapter is not as universal as they would have you believe. Does not fit my XtrememeMac Incharge Duo (which was purchased at the Apple Store). Can't even hack it (literally). Oh well, "only" out $15

Perhaps I overlooked the portion of the survey to choose one of each color. But, i funded 30$ for one in each color and was certain i made that selection at the time of funding.
I received 2 flybridge adaptors in black, that will not match my iPod hi-fi. :(
Also, I can confirm what others have said, the packaging in nice and displays the product well. But is flimsy and definitely does not hold up when shipped in bubble mailers.
Great build quality. I will update later when I am able to test them out in my docks at home...

I got my flybridge today, and it's already sitting nicely on my clock/dock. no more cable snaking off my nightstand...
I do have one small issue, the packaging... it's flimsy and won't stay together. the clear plasit is nice and all, but you might be better off with a pressboard box with window. It would hold up to store abuse far better than the current packaging.

Thanks so much for the vimeo link on the Bose insert!! ...who knew? You would have to know to look for the black slot to pry out insert. My Flybridge fits wonderfully with my iPad Mini!! Regarding Apple dock.. unfortunately i do have the "iPhone 4 dock" which works with my 4s phone. Again, i am not aware of the "Apple Universal Dock" and unfortunately for me the two devices are very similar in appearance (now that i know to look?)
At least i am not totally out of luck with the Bose fit.. Still think it was a great idea and product, and am glad a backed it. Keep up the innovative thinking.. No doubt when Apple changes the connector again when i upgrade to the iPhone 6, flybridge II will be in the mix?

Hi Douglas,
Just trying to confirm, is your Apple dock an iPhone 4 dock or a Universal dock? Link below to the iPhone 4 dock and the Apple Universal Dock. If its the 4, then it definitely will not fit. We did not design this for the iPhone4 dock. Apple created a universal dock standard which all manufacturers have tried to adhere to when using dock inserts. The Flybridge has been designed to fit accurately to the Apple Universal Dock standard and it does this well. Various dock manufacturers can be loose with their tolerances for instance, one person commented their LG seemed a loose fit with Flybridge, and in our experience Bose is a tight fit, you need to push down on the top hard. These are problems with the individual dock manufacturers not adhering better to the tolerances set out by Apple, but as long as it is based on the Universal dock insert standard they will fit. Some companies like Sony, make products with Universal docks and products without. So it would be important to check this.
Bose docks come with a plastic insert within the Universal dock that snaps out, can be hard to see. I have just created a video that can be viewed at the link below. Push something into the slot at the back of the dock to release and remove, then snap in the Flybridge.

I received my Flybridge and it serves the exact purpose I bought it for. Works great in my iHome alarm clock universal dock. From the other comments saying it does not work with cases, that is a problem with the Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter, not Flybridge. The lightning connector is just not long enough to work with most cases. I have a silicone case that takes 2 seconds to take off, no big deal.

Hmmm? Very disappointed. Just received my Flybridge and it does not even come close to fitting in my iPhone 4 dock ?? Nor does it fit my Bose V25 dock...???... Again, not even close ?? (so much for "any universal 30 pin dock") Not sure where to go next but "C'est la vie..." buyer beware as the photos are misleading as is the written description. Flybridge should have a specific compatibility fit list......bummer...

Got my Flybridge the other day and I love it! The reversable thing isn't a problem. Some might even see that option as a blessing, especially in the event that they forget to turn Do Not Disturb mode on, and like me, keep the brightness on the highest setting. No more bright lights in the middle of the night!

Hi All,
regarding cases. Its difficult to design for every case, its not just the distance from the back support, but the connector must protrude higher than the base support. In most of the examples we reviewed, like Otterbox, the case is not designed to accept the larger size of the Apple 30-pin to Lightning adapter. Only enough room was left for the small Lightning adapter to poke through. And then there is the problem of every case requires a different distance to the back support and a different height of the connector.
I posted a FAQ on the Kickstarter page regarding cases on December 29, 2012. The reality a slim case will work if you place the phone in backwards and use the reversibility of the connector. Its not the best solution, but it does charge and play music. Flybridge is working on some new products and we are designing for cases - so please keep a look out. The FAQ from December is below.
"The answer is some will work, but as with most of these dock inserts its unlikely all cases will work. There are thousands of cases available all over the world and we can not test each one. Apple's tolerances are pretty tight for the relationship between device and connector and we have tried to make Flybridge compatible with as many new Lightning equipped devices as possible. We have seen some cases work and because Lightning is reversible, many cases will work when the iPhone is mounted backwards, not ideal but it still charges and plays music fine."

Got my Flybridge yesterday and was disappointed to find out that it cannot be used when your iDevice has a case on it. I should have realized this in advance by looking at the pictures on the Kickstarter pages but it just never occurred to me until I went to put my iPhone 5 (with an extremely thin case) into the FlyBridge and it simply will not go in. Maybe Jason and the gang will come up with an adjustable back piece? But until then, I guess I'm right back where I started. Frankly, I would think that a lot of people are in the same boat. I know none of my friends have naked iPhones either. Of course, they're probably smarter than me and thought about the case thing!

Got my nice shiny package today. Way to go Flybridge!! Looks great in my dock but back support too tight of a fit and I can not use this with the device in its case. Gen 2, please move the back support to allow room for cases.
