Hello all,

Thanks for visiting! By now you may or may not know who or what exactly Hope's Wake is, but I will tell you: it's me - and a rotating cast of musicians.

Although I have been writing and playing music for some time, last year was really my introduction into the professional realm. I released my first EP, toured in the East, and met some wonderful people. However, by tour's end I was ready to step it up a notch.

I moved to Nashville, took out all my savings, and sat myself at home to perfect my craft. Every day, I worked hours and hours on every aspect of my sound. Now I'm ready to give it all to you.

The studio I booked is Beech House Recording. It is located right here in Nashville and it is fronted by Mark Nevers. If you haven't heard his name, he's the same guy that produced Bonnie Prince Billy, Lampchop, Calexico, the Silver Jews, and recently Caitlin Rose. He, Sean Zywick, and I will be working together to produce my 10 best tracks (+2 bonus tracks) as well a four song EP.

While $10,000 seems like a lot of money (well it is), for professional recordings it isn't. I have the studio booked for ten days and the money is set to pay for:

• production (engineer, studio use, mixing)
• studio musicians (bassist, guitarist, drummer, string quartet)
• mastering
• pressing (vinyl and cd)

Even then, it may not be enough money, but all I care about is getting these songs into your hands - without going into serious debt. 

Just remember: Kickstarter is All or Nothing. If the goal isn't reached not a dollar of funding will go through. In other words, if we don't reach the goal, don't be surprised to see Sean Zywick and I on the corner of Broadway sleeping in a cardboard box.
