I am designing costumes and wall installations for my solo painting exhibition in Shanghai China, beginning Sept.1st 2012.
New York City multimedia Artist Atsuko Yuma will create a performance/art event at her upcoming exhibit "Existence-Space of the Eternal Love". The performances will take place in Sept, 2012 at Shun Art Gallery ( www.shunartdesign.com ) in Shanghai, China and Shuyu Gallery (http://ginza.shuyugallery.com/artist.html) in Tokyo, Japan.
The solo exhibit, designed for paintings and solo music/dance performances within a softened, ambient interior space, will incorporate custom white linen wall installations in both the gallery and reception space.
For each show and performance, Yuma creates traditionally-based white gauze costumes and sings to her own original material. She will perform her song material at these shows with original soundtracks by New York City composer Joe Gallant.
Your support of her project will:
help fund the production of the music material,
cover the sound-engineering and video expenses at the exhibits,
assist in converting the gallery into a performance space for Yuma's song-driven storytelling.
Upon the success of this exhibition, Yuma will present a similar event in Chelsea Gallery, NYC in September 2013.
