WALL STREET EXODUS

Wall Street Exodus (“Exodus”) is a project in which Wall Street professionals re-purpose their financial and business skills to create self-sustaining businesses for the world’s poor, starting right up the road from Wall Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The project’s objective is to transform lives.  This will occur in three ways.  First, the lives of the poor in the areas visited will be transformed through increased income and job opportunities from the businesses created.  Second, in the process of helping others, the Wall Street professionals themselves will see their own lives transformed and re-“purposed."  Third, to expand the reach and the impact of this transformation process, all aspects of Exodus will be captured on film.  This will be used to create an unprecedented reality television show and a ground-breaking documentary film.

The initial pioneers of this concept will be a group of 12 men who will spend 12 months creating self-sustaining businesses for the people of Bridgeport.

HISTORY OF THE PROJECT

It all started with 5 simple words..."Wall Street Exodus For Christ."  Well, actually it started with our project's "chief catalyst" unexpectedly losing his job in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression...with three children ages 4, 2 and 5 months to support.

Then...just three days after hearing those five words and being given a vision for leading men from their careers to their "callings"...he was offered a high-paying job that would have put all those financial worries to rest.  He had a very difficult decision to make.  In the end, instead of taking the much safer and easier path, he decided to turn down the job offer and to whole-heartedly pursue the vision God had placed on his heart.  He went "all in" for God.  What you're looking at here is the result.

USE OF FUNDS: "KICKSTART" BRIDGEPORT

Our plan, as stated above, is to have our 12 Wall Streeters spend 12 months living and working in innercity Bridgeport.  We plan to film this whole time period and create a reality television series and a documentary film about the experience.

The initial phase of this plan is to film the first "season" of the television show.  This will require relocating 12 Wall Streeters to Bridgeport, staffing up a film crew, providing housing and meals to the "12" and covering office, travel and administrative expenses.  This is what we are looking to fund through this Kickstarter campaign.

Looking down the road, we plan to film a second season of the television show while in Bridgeport and to create a feature-length film documenting the whole 12-month experience.  These will require additional resources and we believe by faith that these will be provided for when that time comes.  Right now, it is our objective to "kickstart" this whole process by creating the initial foundation in Bridgeport upon which the full vision can stand.

Through our experiences in Bridgeport, we plan to create a model that we can then take to other cities around the country...and the world.  This would result in additional "seasons" of the television show - with different locations and different "casts" but with the same goal of transforming lives.

In addition to contributing financially, if you are able to support this vision in some other way through the contribution of time and/or talent, we are looking for individuals to help in a variety of capacities - from volunteer camera operators and production assistants to accounting and backoffice support.  If you and/or your firm are able to contribute your expertise to this project, we would really appreciate your help.  Any contribution will get us one step closer to seeing lives transformed in Bridgeport.

THE "FINE PRINT"

Please note that there are many uncertainties associated with a start-up project such as this. Some of the rewards are dependent upon the successful completion of "season 1" of the project and there is no guarantee that the season will be completed. Of course, we strongly believe that it will be but we just wanted everyone to be aware of this possibility up front so that there are no miscommunications or missed expectations.
