The idea behind this album spun from a favor that I was doing for a dear friend of mine, Trenton Mueller. He wanted to produce a worship song with a female lead vocal for a project of his own. The more we discussed the song I wanted to record, the harder it was to narrow it down. Just ONE song? I am not great at being decisive. So maybe I could write my own? And then the fire was lit. Trenton and I tossed around the idea of making a worship project together and I got more and more excited at the thought of actually following through with what seemed like such a far-fetched idea. My childhood dream is becoming a reality in front of my eyes! I owe my excitement to Trenton's encouragement. "Jamie, it's time." After a lot of prayer, the mechanics of what it would take to put together a debut album started coming together. And the excitement level increased all the more. I am so stoked to get to work with great friends (who happen to be incredibly talented musicians) on all fronts of this project. What an opportunity to do what I love with my "family!" I can't wait!

I have shared a stage with this guy for over 4 years. I know him like a brother. You'll soon know him as a record producer. Ladies and gentlemen, Trenton Mueller.

I'm so grateful to have encouragement and support already from so many of you! It's your backing of this album that spurs me to create and produce a project that I can be proud of start to finish. Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

The recording part is the fun part for me. But there is a lot that goes into making an album, especially a debut album.

Since I am not on a label or part of a publishing team, all of the details and logistics for this project are going to be handled mainly by yours truly and Trenton--though I do hope to learn to delegate a bit more. There will be some challenges for me:

-balancing time in the studio with my other job (yes, unlike NO other musician in Nashville, I am a server in a restaurant...see what I did there?)

-taking my vocal warm-ups seriously! Nothing will prolong a vocal session in the studio like waiting for my voice to come back.

-the $500 reward tier is an acoustic recording of a worship song. Trenton and I are excited at the opportunity to record more songs, but there is going to have to be a strategy behind cranking out possibly 3 more songs on top of the 7 on the album. I would love to do as many as possible, but 3 acoustic recordings is going to be the limit. We don't want to spread ourselves too thin!

-the highest reward tier is a live acoustic concert in a city within 7 hours of Nashville. Trenton will travel with me to put on a concert. Truly acoustic--it'll be my voice and Trenton's guitar. I love smaller shows like that; they're more intimate. The 7 hour radius was one we thought through--since my hometown is 7 hours away and I'd love for at least 1 of the concerts to be in Mobile!

-I love getting mail, but I'm not as keen on sending it. Merely mailing the albums is going to be a challenge. I'll go ahead and admit that. But rest assured, you will get what you paid for!
